As of April 21st 2015 Google introduced their MICE update, they rolled it out globally over the coming weeks. This means that for anyone using a mobile smartphone to search on Google, only mobile-friendly websites will be favoured in the search engine results. If your company uses a website to gain new customers then you stand to lose as much as 50% of this traffic if you only have an old desktop site. Some have nicknamed it: MobileGeddon for the effect it has had on non-mobile-friendly sites.

Starting April 21, we will be expanding our use of mobile-friendliness as a ranking signal.
